Decking, Composite Or Wood?

Decking, composite or wood?

It’s no surprise that with the nice weather, many are requesting quotes for decking. Decking is a great way to transform your garden into a luxurious outside living space for those sunny days and al fresco dining with the family.  Decking can be used to zone a larger garden and add warmth to a tired open space.  It can also be a wonderful way to extend a smaller space with stepping and raised decking features.  Whatever your plan is, or if you need some inspirational ideas we are here to help.

There are typically 2 types of decking that you could opt for depending on your budget – Composite, and Wood.  Both give a beautiful finish and will transform any garden into the chic, attractive living space of your dreams.  Composite decking can last for 10-30 years and requires very little maintenance.  It won’t splinter, rot, or become susceptible to insect damage.  Most have UV resistance built-in so it won’t fade or lighten with the sun as much as natural wood would do overtime. Composite also tends to be much less slippery than timber can be.  Wood decking does tend to be cheaper than composite and can offer a more natural rustic feel to your garden.  It will still be durable as long as the timber is maintained and looked after each year.  Whatever option is right for you, you will be in no doubt that you made the right choice for your garden when you see the end result.
